    I would love to do away with the cover letter. Yet, I just applied to a position that required a cover letter. Really wish more companies would adopt this. If a cover is required I never send one. Good info.

      They are an old function, designed to give the interviewer more information, but no one reads them and people don’t know how to write them effectively.

      An email is essentially a cover letter and people will read an email, as its not an attachment.
